In Chapter 1, we read the heartbreaking story of Hannah who can not have children. This sets the scene for God to do something amazing. Rather than becoming bitter and angry, Hannah turns to God in prayer and He graciously hears her. God’s answer to Hannah is not only a blessing to her family, but to the nation of Israel and to us today. Samuel will be born, who will herald the coming of God’s chosen King.
